ProGood 30 Billion Premium Probiotics + Prebiotics is a premium pre-biotics and pro-probiotic formula with scientific studies and research backing it. Formulated by microbiologist John Ellerman, it is based on 8 years of research that also involes researchers from The University of NSW and the CSIRO.
ProGood contains a selection of the best possible probiotic cultures, including Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium lactis. The prebiotics (which are food for the probiotic cultures to allow them to successfully grow in the gut) include Arabinogalactan and Inulin from the Jerusalem Artichoke. These can both resist digestion and significantly multiply the probiotic cultures in your intestinal tract.
The thing that makes this a unique formula is the indepth research in to the specific strains of probiotic and the specific type and quantity of the prebiotic in the formula that have been matched and tested by scientific researchers over a period of 8 years, including scientists from the CSIRO.
This version of ProGood contains 30 billion Lactobacillus acidophilus LAFTI strain L10 and Bifidobacterium lactis LAFTI strain B94 per serving. These strains have been selected based on scientific research that showed these strains were the best of around 50 strains of commercially available probiotic strains tested, suppressing the growth of harmful E. coli bacteria. Some alternative strains that are sold as probiotics were also tested (including some alternate Lactobacillus acidophilus strains), and shown to actually promote the growth of harmful E. coli, proving that when it comes to probiotics, they are certainly not all created equal.
ProGood has been formulated for individuals that have sensitivity reactions* to ingredients commonly used in foods. It contains cultures, trehalose and the prebiotic fibre ingredients arabinogalactan (from the Larch tree*) and inulin (from Jerusalem artichokes). It is free of all flavourings and preservatives.
*Note: Almost all probiotic cultures available on the market today (including those in ProGood) contain traces of milk proteins reflecting the medium on which they were grown. These are mostly removed during the concentration of the cells and the levels are insignificant to all but a small minority of highly sensitive individuals who are anaphylactic for dairy. The arabinogalactan is not suitable for individuals with an allergy to pine trees.
